SAVE the BATS
Local amateur conservationists Adam Anderson and Jimmy Jakubik from the Pistola's Wildlife Association and Jeremy Gelman from Pernod Ricard are teaming up with the Tequila Interchange Project to save the bats that are trying to save tequila and mezcal. Long story short, as these spirits has become super popular, producers have increasingly cloned agave plants, eliminating naturally bat pollinated reproduction. Cloning stifles genetic diversity which diminishes quality and threatens both the bats and the blue agave's survival. Bat friendly party and drawing take place on June 21st.
